Depth Filtration:
In depth filtration, particles are retained within a thicker media or multiple layers of media that form a torturous path.
The thick medium traps fine particles, preventing them from passing easily.
Depth filtration is commonly used for:
Polishing filtration in applications like essential oil clarification, haze removal in distilled spirits, blood fractionation, and transformer oil filtration.
Bulk chemical production.
Surface Filtration:
Surface filtration is a process where a filter medium captures particles primarily on its surface rather than throughout its depth.
Particles are retained on the filter's surface, forming a layer or cake. The filter medium has fine pores that prevent particles larger than the pore size from passing through.
Common materials used for surface filtration include woven fabrics, membranes, screens, and certain types of papers. These materials are selected based on their pore size, chemical compatibility, and mechanical strength.
Applications:
Water and Wastewater Treatment: Removing suspended solids and microorganisms.
Air Filtration: Used in HVAC systems, cleanrooms, and respirators.
Industrial Processes: Filtering coolants, lubricants, and process fluids.
Food and Beverage Industry: Ensuring product purity by removing unwanted particulates.
Advantages:
Efficiency: High efficiency in capturing particles larger than the pore size.
Regenerability: Filters can often be cleaned and reused, depending on the material and application.
Predictability: Particle capture is predictable based on the known pore size of the filter medium.
Disadvantages:
Clogging: Filters can clog quickly, reducing flow rates and requiring frequent cleaning or replacement.
Limited Lifespan: Depending on the application, surface filters might need to be replaced more frequently than depth filters.
Carbon Filters
A carbon filter (also known as an activated carbon filter) is a type of filter commonly used for purifying water and removing impurities from various fluids.
Carbon filtering works through a process called adsorption.
Pollutants in the fluid (such as water or air) are trapped inside the pore structure of a carbon substrate.
Common Uses:
Water purification: Carbon filters effectively remove chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and unpleasant tastes and odours from water.
Media Cartridges
We have a range of cartridges with different medias for point of use applications. Depending on the media cartridge chosen you can remove or reduce arsenic, nitrates, hardness, carbonates, or inhibit hardness or even deionise your water.

Filter Bag: Made from various materials, including polypropylene, polyester, nylon, and sometimes more specialized materials like Teflon. These bags are available in different micron ratings, indicating the size of particles they can capture.
Filter Housing: The container that holds the filter bag. It is typically made of stainless steel, carbon steel, or plastic, and is designed to handle the pressure and flow rate of the specific application.
Support Basket: Inside the housing, a perforated metal basket supports the filter bag, ensuring it stays in place and maintains its shape under pressure.
Advantages of Bag Filtration
Cost-Effective: Lower initial investment and operating costs compared to other filtration methods.
Easy to Use: Simple design makes installation, operation, and maintenance straightforward.
Versatile: Suitable for a wide range of applications and capable of handling various flow rates and viscosities.
Scalable: Easily scaled up by adding more bags or larger housings to accommodate higher flow rates.
High Dirt-Holding Capacity: Capable of capturing a large volume of particulates before needing replacement.
Disadvantages
Limited to Surface Filtration: Primarily captures particles on the surface of the bag, which can lead to faster clogging compared to depth filtration.
Frequent Replacement: Filter bags may need to be replaced frequently in high-contaminant applications.
Disposal: Used filter bags must be disposed of properly, which can be an environmental concern.
Applications
Water and Wastewater Treatment: Removing suspended solids, algae, and other contaminants.
Chemical Processing: Filtering process fluids to ensure product purity and protect equipment.
Food and Beverage: Ensuring product quality by removing particulates from liquids like juices, syrups, and sauces.

Our most compact filter SL 160 has a flow rate of up to 3 m³/h, while the largest filter NW 800 has a peak flow rate of up to 32 m³/h.
The particles are filtered by means of a sieve known as a mesh, sleeve or sock, with fineness levels ranging from 1 to 300 µm.
GreenLife Magnetic Bag Housing
Stainless steel magnetic bag filter housing are devices for clarifying water in closed circuits for hot water in heating systems and also cooling and ice water circuits.
As far as the water is flowing through the filter, it will take corrosion and clogging of the circuits caused by the presence of metallic particles related to the phenomena of electrolytic currents in the water, the introduction of dissolved gases due to leakage losses or through the porosity of the pipes.
These phenomena in the water will generate sediments and sludge, and, consequently, will slow down the circulation of the fluid; at same time, the system will loose energy, efficiency and the life duration of the pumps will be reduced and the exchangers will be clogged. Magnetic bag filter housing are an effective response to these problems.
